Sea To Sky Explorers Association is providing logistical support, digital and detailed surveys, data and sample collection, and project coordination to survey lichens along the ocean-facing and bay-facing cliffs of the California coast, with the goal of collecting lichen samples to be analyzed in comparison with terrestrial lichens.

STSEA is assigning teams of volunteers as needed to conduct the site surveys, performing capability assessments of the volunteers, providing logistical support and consulting with a geographer to assist with the large-scale digital survey.

Deliverables include written reports on surveying activities, close-up photographs of lichens and cliff/intertidal sites, large-scale photographs of cliff/intertidal sites and video recordings of the project sufficient to create a documentary film that showcases the project in a public-facing manner.
